Today I am posting a song by Utah-based musician, Josh Kelley. Interestingly, when I bring his name up to many of my Utah friends, they are not familiar with him. Well, it is time to familiarize yourself. 🙂
Josh Kelley is an incredibly talented artist and this is an amazing song! The lyrics are so heartfelt and mesmerizing. What wife would not want their husband to write this song for them?
This is a new song that was just posted to YouTube on Monday of this week. I saw Josh perform live in January of this year at the ascap Music Cafe during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. I would swear that he sang this song during that performance. I vividly remember him talking about the fact that he had just written a song for his wife and he wanted to play it for her. His wife, Katherine Heigl, was there with their brand new baby who literally had been born just a month earlier. I remember walking out of that performance and saying to myself, “I cannot wait until he releases that song … it is beautiful!” So, I cannot guarantee that this was the song, but it sure does ring that memory bell for me.
I am hoping that Josh will be performing during the Sundance Film Festival again this year, but in the meantime … I just discovered that he is touring and will be in NYC at a small, intimate venue in December. Sounds like a great night out!
