I love this new song from Christina Perri’s new album, Head or Heart, that was just released today. I love it even more because she recorded the song with one of my all time favorites … Ed Sheeran! Typically her songs are very dramatic and emotional and this song is just fun and catchy. I really like the change of pace – she does this style well too.
Christina Perri literally catapulted from obscurity to success with her song, “Jar of Hearts” after a choreographer featured the song on a 2010 episode of So You Think You Can Dance. The song created a huge buzz and had more than 100,000 downloads in the first two weeks after it aired. The song went on to be an international hit, she signed a record deal, and now she is releasing her sophomore album. A pretty cool success story. She is an amazing singer-songwriter with a very distinctive sound.
I was excited to see that she and Ed Sheeran worked together. He seems to be one of the most generous artists out there and often teams up with other artists on their songs. I have talked about Ed Sheeran many times on this blog already, so I won’t say much other than that I am a huge fan and am anxiously awaiting his new album.
