Today I am posting what I wrote yesterday. I did not have wifi long enough to get this posted, so this note is just a day late. I am still in Dallas and enjoying visiting old favorites. It has been a busy day full of friends for all of us. So, here is yesterday … 😉
Just a short note as I am moving on fumes today! I was in NYC last night at a private show with Ryan Star and got home about 1:00 a.m., just to turn around and head to the airport at 4:30 a.m.! Not a lot of sleep to get me through the day.
The kids and I flew back to Dallas this morning for a short visit. This song seemed appropriate for the day because I have two very happy kids, as well as some happy friends who are looking forward to spending time with them. I sometimes forget what it is like to return to a “home.” It is so familiar! Things are so easy! It actually feels comforting. I am looking forward to reconnecting with friends and just spending a few days enjoying the familiarity of an old home.
I began listening to Uncle Kracker years ago and really began to enjoy his music while living in Detroit in the early 2000s. This song is off his 2012 album, “Midnight Special” and just felt like the perfect song for the day.
