Happy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be thankful for and I feel very blessed. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the opportunity to spend time together with family and reflect on my blessings. I also find it a much less stressful holiday than Christmas, a time where you can sit back and enjoy being together without worrying about all the things you need to get done.
One of my favorite traditions at my family’s Thanksgiving celebration is our thankful toast. For years, we have gone around the entire dinner table (which now stands at 21 people!) and everyone says what they are thankful for this year and we toast after each sentiment. This year was especially touching. My mom and dad have been married for 52 years and what they had to say about each other this year was just so sweet. Both of them looked at each other and expressed such loving gratitude for the other one. I am so grateful that I have had this example of love in my life.
This song by The Goo Goo Dolls just came to mind immediately. I love this video! This song just totally expresses the emotion that I saw in my parents yesterday. I have always been a fan of The Goo Goo Dolls, but I would have to say that this new song is just one of my favorites.
