Throwback Thursday!

As I mentioned earlier this week, I have decided to dedicate a few days each week to a particular theme. I have often used Thursdays as a throwback day, but from now on it  will always officially be “Throwback Thursday.” I started doing a “Song of the Day” for my daughter back in 2009, and began this website in 2013. I have LOTS of music that I have shared over those years; therefore, I have decided to use this day to revisit one of the songs that I shared over the last 9 years.

Today I decided to share a song by Plug In Stereo that I shared on my daughter’s Facebook wall back in 2011. I just had to share this song today because of the song I shared yesterday. Plug In Stereo was the performance name of a young singer-songwriter named Trevor Dahl who played very sweet, emotive acoustic pop. I always enjoyed listening to his music and wondered what had become of him.

Much to my surprise, as I was looking up the names of the members of the group – Cheat Codes – there he was! I really had no idea that it was the same person, but I instantly recognized the name and face (hard to miss that fabulous hair!). I  just felt like I should share a song by him today. The two songs are about as completely opposite as possible and it is fun for me to see an artist evolve over time.

It’s Throwback Thursday! Today’s #tbt song was originally posted as my daughter’s Song of the Day on September 12 2013.

Okay, well I warned you yesterday that this would probably be today’s #tbt song. I don’t typically post two days of songs by the same artist, but in posting one of Matt Hire’s brand new songs yesterday, it made me think of my very favorite song by him and I think it is a song that everyone should have on their playlist. I absolutely adore this song and think his voice is amazing! Who wouldn’t want him to sing you a song?

The song was released on his summer 2009 debut album, Take Us To The Start. I love this very raw, acoustic version of him playing the song in the video below. Enjoy!
