It’s Throwback Thursday! Today’s #tbt song is from 2008 while we were living in London, England.
I am being a little tongue in cheek with the title of this song today. What I really want to say is “please STOP the rain!”
I have decided that spring in the northeast is very slow in coming. I keep waiting … and waiting … and, well you get the point. We literally had over 24 hours of straight rain and got over 4.5 inches in that time period. There was flooding everywhere this morning and I literally have a small lake in my backyard. Central Park in NYC got 5.12 inches, which is the tenth wettest day on record. Needless to say, it has been a wet and chilly few days. April showers bring May flowers, right? Let’s hope, but I am looking at my forecast and it looks like we are having May showers! So, June flowers?
“If it’s gonna be a rainy day, there’s nothing we can do to make it change. We can pray for sunny weather, but that won’t stop the rain.”
I became a fan of James Morrison while we were living in London. We actually saw him perform live at an outdoor concert in a London park and, although the sound was not great, he was fabulous and I really enjoy his music.
James Morrison is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from the UK who began busking at the age of 15 while living in Cornwall. He literally became an overnight sensation in the UK after the release of his first album, Undiscovered, in 2006 at the age of 21. James Morrison was the winner of Best British Male Solo Artist at the 2007 Brit Awards and was the biggest selling British male solo artist that same year. In 2008, he released his second album, Songs For You, Truths For Me, the album where you can find today’s song and his biggest selling single, “Broken Strings,” which he recorded with Nelly Furtado. He released his third album, The Awakening, in 2011. I have not heard much about him in the last few years, so I am now curious to find out what he has been doing.
Enjoy the song and bring on the sunshine!!
